Number Lines
A number line is a straight line with numbers placed at equal distances. It helps you see how big numbers are and how far apart they are.
Your goals

Words to know
- interval:
- The equal space between neighbouring marks on a number line.
- distance:
- How far apart two numbers are.
Examples
- 1... 3 — 4 — 5 — 6 — 7 ...
- 2To add 3 + 2, start at 3 and jump 2 spaces forward to land on 5.
Check these
- • Do not count the starting mark as the first jump.
- • Keep every number, symbol, label, and unit in its correct place.
- • Show enough working to check how you reached your answer.
